Colorado summers don't really stop. Even on Sunday. You've hiked, you've cooked out, maybe you drove up to the mountains or spent the afternoon on the water — and by the time evening rolls in, your body is tired but your brain is still running a highlight reel of everything you did and everything you have to do tomorrow.
We hear this one a lot at the shop. The body is ready for sleep. The mind hasn't gotten the memo yet.
The Transition Is the Hard Part
The transition from weekend mode to weeknight mode is genuinely tricky. Your nervous system spent two days in a more expansive state — more movement, more sensory input, more socializing — and it doesn't automatically downshift just because you told it to.
That's where a deliberate wind-down ritual matters. Not something elaborate. Just a short window — 30 minutes or so before bed — where you're actively signaling to your body that it's time to shift gears.
What That Looks Like in Practice
Some of it isn't CBD-related at all. Dim the lights. Put the phone down. If you can, step outside for a few minutes and let the evening air do its thing. Colorado summer nights are actually pretty good for this — the temperature drops, the sky gets dramatic. Use it.
But we do keep a couple of things at the shop specifically for this window. One of our favorites is the CBDfx Calming Tincture – CBD + CBN ($55). It's a broad-spectrum formula — just CBD and CBN working together with no heavy sedative edge. Good for the earlier part of your wind-down when you want to take the edge off before you're fully ready to sleep.
For the later part — the "I actually want to sleep now" part — the Koi Complete Nighttime Gummies – CBD + CBN + Delta-9 THC ($45) are what a lot of our regulars reach for. Each gummy has 25mg of CBD, 10mg of CBN, and 5mg of Delta-9 THC. The three work together in a way that feels more complete than any single cannabinoid on its own.
You Don't Have to Use Both
We're not suggesting you build a whole supplement stack on Sunday nights. Pick one. Start there. A lot of people find that one or the other is enough, depending on how wound up they are.
The gummies take about 45 minutes to an hour to settle in, so plan accordingly. Take them while you're doing your other wind-down stuff — making tea, reading, whatever helps you get quiet.
One More Thing
Summer in Loveland moves fast. It's easy to let Sunday slip into that half-rested, half-anxious in-between state where you didn't really recharge but you also didn't really do anything. A 30-minute wind-down ritual — with or without CBD — changes that.
We're at 677 E. Eisenhower Blvd. if you want to come in and talk through what might work for you. Open Sundays noon to 5pm.
