Most people who come into the shop have tried CBD before. They tried a gummy or a tincture, gave it a few weeks, and either stuck with it or moved on. But there's a format that most people overlook entirely, and once they try it, the conversation usually goes in a pretty different direction.

It's nano CBD. And if you've been taking oil-based CBD without feeling much, this is worth knowing about.

The Absorption Problem Nobody Talks About

Standard CBD tinctures and gummies are oil-based. Hemp extract suspended in MCT oil is the most common formula you'll find. The issue is that oil and water don't mix easily — and your body is mostly water. When you swallow oil-based CBD, a portion gets filtered out or broken down during digestion before your bloodstream ever sees it.

Bioavailability is the word for how much of something actually makes it into your system. For oral oil-based CBD, that percentage is real but limited. You get a benefit, but you're also losing some of what you paid for.

How Nano CBD Works Differently

Nano CBD takes the same hemp extract and breaks it down into ultra-fine, water-compatible particles through a process called nanoemulsification. Those particles are small enough to mix with water — which means they absorb far more efficiently when you take them orally, and penetrate skin more effectively when you apply them topically.

Think about stirring oil into a glass of water versus mixing in a water-soluble drink powder. One floats. One blends right in. Nano CBD is the version that just blends.

That efficiency means a smaller dose can deliver a more noticeable effect than a larger dose of standard oil-based CBD. Which matters a lot if you've been bumping up your dose trying to feel something.

Two Nano Products Worth Knowing

We carry two nano CBD products at the shop, and they work well together if you want to cover both internal and external support.

The Nano CBD Hydration Drops by GoodLeaf Hemp Therapeutics ($80) are built on a pH 9.0 alkaline water base — not oil. Drop them into your water bottle, shake, and they actually mix in. They also include lion's mane mushroom alongside the CBD, which pairs well with the clear-headed feeling a lot of people describe when they switch to nano. It's a genuinely different experience than the usual dropper-under-the-tongue routine.

The Colorado Fresh Nano Amplified CBD Roll-On ($85) applies the same technology topically. The nano-emulsified CBD absorbs faster than standard creams, and the formula pairs it with arnica, tea tree, aloe, and camphor — useful after hiking, biking, or any Colorado summer activity that leaves your body asking questions. Convenient roll-on format, no mess, no excess.

Is It Worth Switching?

Not necessarily switching — adding. If your current CBD routine is working, keep it. Nano CBD is a useful upgrade for specific situations: when you want faster absorption, when standard oil hasn't felt like enough, or when you want a more convenient daily delivery method that fits into hydration rather than a separate supplement step.

If you've written off CBD because it "didn't work," the format might be the variable worth revisiting before you give up on it entirely.

We're at 677 E. Eisenhower Blvd. in Loveland, open Monday through Saturday 11am–6pm and Sunday 12pm–5pm. Happy to walk you through both products in person.
