Today is the fall equinox. Colorado has been hinting at it for weeks — cooler mornings, golden light in the afternoons, that feeling of wanting to slow down and be deliberate about things. Today it is official.

We have been making this golden milk latte on and off all September, and it keeps earning its spot in the morning routine. It is warm, it is grounding, and it comes together in about five minutes. If you have a coffee habit you are trying to complement — or replace on certain mornings — this is a good option.

What You Need

The base is simple: 1½ cups of your preferred milk (oat milk works really well here), ½ teaspoon of turmeric, ¼ teaspoon of ginger, a tiny pinch of black pepper, a pinch of cinnamon, and something to sweeten it.

For sweetener, we reach for a GoodLeaf CBD+CBG+CBN Honey Stix ( each). It adds just the right amount of sweetness, and the 27mg of CBD, CBG, and CBN dissolves right into the warmth of the drink. You can grab them individually at the shop — most people keep a few on hand for exactly this kind of use.

Putting It Together

Warm the milk in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Whisk in the turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, and black pepper. Do not let it boil — just warm until it steams. Take it off the heat, squeeze in the honey stix, and give it another quick stir.

If you want to add a dropper of CBDfx CBD+CBG Wellness Tincture (5) instead of or alongside the honey stix, stir it in after you take the pan off the heat. This broad-spectrum tincture pairs CBD and CBG in a 2:1 ratio with curcumin and CoQ10 — it is what a lot of our regulars reach for as a morning foundation, and it fits right into a recipe like this.

Pour into your favorite mug. That is it.

Why This Works for a Monday

There is something about starting the week with a deliberate five-minute ritual instead of just rushing toward caffeine. Golden milk has shown up in kitchens for centuries for exactly this reason — it is warming and grounding, and turmeric has been widely studied for its supportive properties.

For Coloradans stepping into fall, the timing feels right. The body starts wanting more warmth and routine as the days get shorter. A consistent morning habit is a much gentler way to adjust than trying to outrun the seasonal shift on coffee alone.
