June in Colorado changes the rhythm of everything. Trails that were muddy in April are dry and fast. The sun is up before 6am. And the race calendar that seemed far away in February is suddenly right on top of you.

The Loveland Lake to Lake Triathlon — June 27

One of the Front Range's most beloved endurance events is back. The Loveland Lake to Lake Triathlon returns June 27, 2026, celebrating its 26th year on a scenic course in Northern Colorado. The USAT-sanctioned race offers sprint and Olympic distances, plus aqua bike options and relay divisions.

Sprint athletes face an 800-yard swim, 15-mile bike, and 5K run. Olympic distance pushes to a 1.5K open-water swim, 30-mile bike, and 10K run. What the Lake to Lake has always done well is strike a balance between serious competition and genuine accessibility — it is where a lot of Colorado athletes do their first triathlon, and many of them come back year after year.

Purple Mountain Throwdown — Colorado Springs, June 27–28

Further south, the Purple Mountain Throwdown fills the same weekend with competitive fitness events at the Norris Penrose Event Center in Colorado Springs. Two days of competition formats, community workouts, and vendor areas draw athletes from across the Front Range. If you have been training hard this spring and want a competitive outlet, this is one of the bigger Colorado fitness weekends of the summer.

What Active Bodies Need in June

Northern Colorado's summer training season tends to hit hardest in June. Altitude, dry air, and the longest days of the year create a physical environment that accelerates recovery demands — especially for athletes doing swim-bike-run training or long trail runs.

At The CBD Store in Loveland, we see two categories of products get a lot of attention this time of year. The first is topical recovery. The Colorado Fresh Nano Amplified CBD Roll-On ($85) uses nano-emulsified CBD alongside arnica, tea tree, and camphor — a formula that absorbs faster than standard CBD creams and works well on the specific spots that complain after multi-sport training. The second is hydration support. The Nano CBD Hydration Drops by GoodLeaf Hemp Therapeutics ($80) use an alkaline water base to deliver CBD alongside lion's mane in a format that blends naturally into training-day hydration.

Neither product is a replacement for sleep, proper nutrition, or actual recovery time. But both fit into an active body's daily maintenance in ways that feel natural rather than clinical.
