A lot of customers come in looking for something to help with sleep, and they notice pretty quickly that a lot of products on our sleep shelf have three letters in common: CBN. People ask what it is, whether it’s different from CBD, and whether it actually does anything. It’s a fair question, and it comes up so often that we figured it was worth writing down.
CBN Isn’t CBD
CBD gets most of the attention, and for good reason — it’s versatile and it shows up in everything from daily capsules to topical creams. CBN is a different cannabinoid with a different profile. It forms naturally as hemp ages and THC gradually breaks down, which is part of why it’s associated with a more settling, mellowing quality.
It doesn’t replace CBD. Most of the sleep products we carry pair the two together because they tend to work better in combination than either does on its own. That idea — that cannabinoids may support each other — is sometimes called the entourage effect, and it’s part of why we lean toward multi-cannabinoid formulas on the sleep side of the shelf.
What We Recommend at the Shop
If someone is new to CBN and wants to try it without a big commitment, we usually point them toward Koi Nighttime Rest CBD Gummies – Cherry Limeade ($30). Each gummy pairs 10mg of broad-spectrum CBD with 2.5mg of melatonin. The dose is approachable and the cherry limeade flavor is actually good.
For people who’ve tried lighter options and want something more substantial, the CBDfx Night Capsules ($70) are worth knowing about. Each capsule delivers 30mg of broad-spectrum CBD and 30mg of CBN — a meaningful dose of both in a format that fits easily into a bedtime routine without measuring anything.
And if you want all three — CBD, CBG, and CBN together — the Berry Good Dreams gummies by GoodLeaf Hemp Therapeutics ($75) are one of the most complete sleep formulas on our shelf. Each gummy packs 50mg of CBD and CBG alongside 30mg of CBN. It’s not for everyone, but for the customers who’ve found their rhythm with it, it tends to make a real difference.
September Is a Good Time to Think About This
The nights are getting longer and cooler in Colorado. Your body is settling into a different rhythm than it had all summer. If your sleep has been inconsistent — hard to fall asleep, waking up earlier than you’d like, or not feeling rested — early fall is a natural time to take stock of what your evening routine is actually doing for you.
CBN won’t fix a chaotic schedule, and no supplement does everything. But for a lot of people, it’s the piece that was missing. Come by and we can walk you through what’s on the shelf. We’re at 677 E. Eisenhower Blvd. in Loveland, open Monday through Saturday 11am–6pm and Sunday noon to 5pm.
