Saturday Mornings Deserve Better Than Reheated Coffee

Look, there’s nothing wrong with coffee. But if your Saturday morning routine has been the same since November, maybe it’s time to mix things up. Especially now that the mornings are warm enough to sit outside with a cold drink and actually enjoy it.

This iced matcha latte has been making the rounds at the shop lately. A few of us started making it on slow weekend mornings, and now customers keep asking for the recipe. So here it is — simple, fast, and genuinely good.

What You Need

One teaspoon of ceremonial-grade matcha powder. About eight ounces of oat milk (or whatever milk you like — almond and coconut both work). A handful of ice. And one CBD + CBG + CBN Honey Stix ($2.00) from GoodLeaf. That’s the whole list.

If you want to go bigger, use two honey stix or swap in a spoonful from the Honey Jar – 1000mg – Peach or Strawberry ($45.00) by GoodLeaf. The peach flavor with matcha is surprisingly good.

How to Make It

Add the matcha powder to a glass with about two tablespoons of hot water — not boiling, just hot enough to dissolve the powder. Whisk it or stir it until there are no clumps. You don’t need a fancy bamboo whisk. A fork works fine.

Squeeze in the honey stix and stir it into the matcha paste. Add ice to the glass, then pour your milk over the top. Give it one more stir, and you’re done. Three minutes, tops.

Why This Combination Works

Matcha gives you a slow, steady energy lift thanks to the L-theanine that naturally occurs alongside the caffeine. It’s the reason matcha feels different from coffee — less spike, less crash, more of a smooth focus that lasts into the afternoon.

The CBD from the honey stix promotes a sense of calm that pairs well with that focus. You’re not wired. You’re not sluggish. You’re just... ready for the day. It’s a nice place to be on a Saturday morning in Loveland, especially if you’ve got a hike or a farmers market on the agenda.

If You’d Rather Keep It Even Simpler

Not everyone wants to make a drink. We get it. If you like the idea of matcha-level focus with CBD but don’t want to pull out a glass, the CBDfx Morning Capsules – CBD + CBG with Caffeine & Botanicals ($70.00) do something similar in capsule form. Pop two with your water bottle and head out the door.

Or if you just want something cold and refreshing with CBD already in it, grab a Rocky Mountain Soda ($2.50) next time you’re in the shop. It’s brewed right here in Colorado and it’s one of the easiest ways to work CBD into a warm afternoon.

Your Weekend Starts Here

May in Colorado is finally feeling like the season we’ve been waiting for. The trails are open, the patios are sunny, and the mornings are warm enough for iced drinks again. This matcha latte is a small thing, but small things have a way of making a Saturday feel intentional instead of accidental.

Stop by the shop if you want to grab some honey stix and try it yourself. We’ll even make you one if you ask nicely.
