If you've spent any time browsing CBD products lately, you've probably noticed it: Delta-9 THC showing up on labels right next to the CBD content. And if your first reaction was something like "wait, what?" — that's completely fair. Most people associate Delta-9 with dispensaries, not wellness shops. Here's the plain version of what's actually going on.
It's Legal, and Here's Why
Hemp-derived Delta-9 THC is federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill. The rule is simple: a finished hemp product can contain Delta-9 THC as long as the total concentration stays below 0.3% by dry weight. A 5mg THC gummy is legal because the gummy itself weighs several grams — the actual THC concentration ends up well under that threshold.
Colorado follows the same framework at the state level. Which means you can walk into our shop in Loveland and legally buy products that list Delta-9 on the label. Third-party tested, hemp-derived, within the legal limit.
What Makes It Different From Dispensary THC?
The molecule is the same. What changes is the dose and what it's paired with. Almost every hemp Delta-9 product combines THC with a much larger amount of CBD — a common ratio is 5mg Delta-9 alongside 25–30mg CBD. Those two cannabinoids work together differently than THC alone.
CBD tends to soften some of THC's sharper edges. Many people describe the combination as more balanced — present, but not overwhelming. It's not the same experience as a high-THC cannabis product. But it's also noticeably more than plain CBD by itself.

A Few Honest Notes
Hemp-derived Delta-9 can still show up on a drug screen. If that's a concern for your job or other reasons, it's worth knowing before you try anything. We'd rather you have that information upfront than be caught off guard later.
Also — start low. If you haven't used any THC products before, half a serving is a reasonable starting point. With gummies especially, give it an hour to ninety minutes before you assess, because they absorb more slowly than tinctures.
