It Started with a Jar in the Shop Fridge
We've been experimenting with cold drinks at the shop this month. Nothing fancy — just things we can make in the back with what's on the shelf and a few minutes between customers. This one stuck.
It's a lavender iced tea sweetened with CBD honey, and it's become the thing we reach for every afternoon when Loveland decides it's actually summer now.
What You Need
Two lavender tea bags (or plain black tea with a pinch of dried culinary lavender — the grocery store kind works fine). One CBD + CBG + CBN Honey Stix ($2.00) per glass. Cold water and ice. That's it.
If you're making a whole pitcher for the weekend, grab the Honey Jar – 1000mg – Peach or Strawberry ($45.00) instead. A tablespoon or two in a full batch gives everyone at the table a mellow, easy dose without measuring anything.
How It Comes Together
Steep your tea bags in about a cup of hot water for five minutes. You want it strong because the ice is going to dilute it. Pull the bags, stir in the honey stix while it's still warm so everything dissolves completely, then pour it over a full glass of ice.
That's the whole recipe. If you want to get a little fancy, squeeze in half a lemon or float a sprig of fresh lavender on top. But honestly, it doesn't need it.
Why This Works for Colorado Evenings
We're in that stretch of spring where the days are warm enough to sit outside but the evenings still cool off fast. This is the drink for that transition — when you're done moving for the day and you just want something cold and calming in your hand.
Lavender has been used for centuries to promote relaxation. Paired with the CBD, CBG, and CBN in those honey stix, it's a combination that may support winding down without feeling like you took anything heavy.
A few of us have started making this after evening walks along the bike trail. It's replaced the second beer for at least two people on staff.
Make It Your Own
Swap the lavender for chamomile if you're not into floral flavors. Use a Rocky Mountain Soda ($2.50) as the base instead of tea if you want something fizzy and zero-effort. Add a splash of oat milk for a creamy version that tastes like a London Fog without the espresso machine.
The point isn't the recipe — it's having something intentional to sip on when the day winds down. Something that tastes good and makes your body go, okay, we're done now.
Come Try It
We usually have a batch in the fridge at the shop. Stop by, grab a sample, and take a honey stix home to make your own. Summer's just getting started.
